Brigeport Conference Center
At the heart of the park is the historic wooden fort comprised of giant logs, small cabins, and earthen floors. This is where settlers would go for protection, and it’s an incredible example of colonial architecture that you can see up close. Throughout the year you can also see several types of artisans perfect their crafts. Watch blacksmiths work with metal, weavers spin traditional clothes, and gun experts repair antique firearms at the only display of its kind in West Virginia. To get a deeper understanding of local history, walk through the exhibit gallery. Before you leave, you can visit the gift shop to pick up a few colonial souvenirs.
The park is also a popular place for outdoor recreation. Take part in several activities like nature trail hikes, fishing and boating. There is a comfortable picnic area, so you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends and family. Bikes are also available to rent at the visitors center, so you can take a fun ride around this beautiful park in West Virginia.
